Nathan Sadik was found with 16 wraps of crack cocaine, with a street value of £160 and 34 wraps of heroin, with a street value of £340, which were found in a yellow pouch at the side of his bed when police searched his address, Norwich Crown Court was told. Martin Ivory, prosecuting, said that £620 in cash was also found and a set of scales for weighing drugs. He said Sadik gave no comment during his interview but said his DNA was found on the wraps of drugs, which were recovered.

Mr Ivory said that Sadik now accepts that he was to supply the drugs to other users Sadik, of Milton Road, Great Yarmouth, admitted possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and was jailed 14 months. He also admitted a bail offence when he failed to appear for a court appearance in relation to these drugs offences, which prompted Norfolk police to issue a wanted appeal for Sadik in August, this year. He had built up a debt for cannabis. He does not use cocaine or heroin.” He said that Sadik disliked the use of cocaine and heroin but because of his financial difficulties had been forced into the position of getting involved in dealing the drugs. He said that Sadik was still a young man and had a job working as a window cleaner.

Mr Oliver said that Sadik deserved credit for his guilty plea. Jailing Sadik, Judge Maureen Bacon said she accepted the drugs would have been sold in street deals and said it was at the “lower end” for this type of offence as it involved a smaller quantity of drugs. Judge Bacon added that she would not impose any separate penalty for the bail offence and said that he had been remanded in custody since his arrest on September 5.
