The directorate of economics and statistics (DES) has roped in about 35,000 e-Mitra kiosks of the state for applying online marriage certificates. 'In case of any delay in issuing a marriage certificate, the DES will question the registrar,' Bairwa said. The facility has already been launched on March 21, which was celebrated as Rajasthan IT Day.

Till now, with the marriage registration work done manually, keeping track of the exact number of registration of marriages in the state was a tough task for the DES. There are about 10,500 registrars in the state, who were doing the work of registering marriages.

Now on, all marriage registration certificates issued by them, will be recorded online making it much easier for the DES to keep tally of the exact number of marriage certificates issued in a given year.
